Telmo Lopes

Telmo was born in Calhandriz, in 1973. He has a Composition degree by the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), studied composition with Carlos Marecos, Luís Tinoco and Sérgio Azevedo, composition techniques with Carlos Caires, Carlos Marecos and João Madureira and orquestration with Roberto Pérez. Throughout his life he produced and conducted several recordings and shows, theater and musicals. As musical director, he holds two prizes of best theater director, two golden globes for best show of the year and a platinum record. As pianist, Telmo played over the world with: Anabela, Ana Moura, André Sardet, Carlos do Carmo, Carlos Guilherme, Carlos Mendes, Compay Segundo, Daniela Mercury, Francisco Seia, Fernando Pereira, Fernando Tordo, Flipe Mukenga, Herman José, João Gil, Luís Represas, Marisa, Martinho da Vila, Mestisay, Miguel Ângelo, Nuno Guerreiro, Pablo Milanés, Paulo de Carvalho, Pedro Abrunhosa, Rui Veloso, Simone de Oliveira, TV, Victor Victor, amor others. He funded the New Ethnic Orchestra in 2017, whose main objective is to experience the rhythms and musical environments of the world.
