Catarina Bispo

Catarina Bispo was born in 1990, in Lisbon. Her musical studies started at an early age, at the Conservatório de Música das Caldas da Rainha, where she studied the recorder and, later, the piano. She also studied at the Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina and Escola de Música de Nossa Srª do Cabo, where she revealed her interest in Composition. In 2012 she was accepted at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, to study Composition. At this institution, Catarina had the chance to study with composers such as Luís Tinoco, Sérgio Azevedo and Carlos Marecos, among others. Some of her premiered works include “To all invisible things” for piano and string trio, “Entre o sono e o sonho” for soprano and ensemble, and “Callanish Voices” for ensemble. Currently, she is teaching Music Theory and Acoustics in Tomar and concluding her Masters in Music Education.
