Helder Oliveira

Helder Alves de Oliveira received his Licentiate degree in Music and his Vocational degree in Piano Performance from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. He was adjunct instructor of Music Analysis and Ear Training at the same institution and was adjunct instructor of Ear Training at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Helder received his Master Degree in Music (Composition) from the Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil. Furthermore, he also studied composition with Danilo Guanais, Manoel Nascimento, and Rodrigo Cicchelli. He has published articles about the relation between music and Gestalt, Intertextuality and Systemic Modeling, and has won several national and international composition competitions. Currently, Helder studies Composition with Liduino Pitombeira in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro doctoral program, and is a Fulbrighter visiting researcher at Louisiana State University, under the guidance of Jeffrey Perry.
