Air for Chamber Orchestra is derived from the second movement of my piano concerto. It was commissioned by and written for the Chamber Orchestra-El Nuevo (Florida – USA). The piece is pure, lyrical and diatonic in character. The music begins with diatonic clusters and gradually unfolds, becoming more chromatic at the climax, suggesting a developing variation form with a ternary structure. Man-Ching Yu
